imgproxy has many features and configurations that are easy to understand and adjust. We could leverage WebP in all our hosted websites in just one day. We also rate highly the tool’s stability, compatibility with all image formats, and speed, which helps us process most images in less than 100ms.

We needed an HTTP-based library that would use libvips, could process images from any remote URLs, and have low memory usage. After exploring options, imgproxy was the only one that met most of the requirements. imgproxy transformed more than 1.1B images from more than 65k websites in 1 year since we started Optimole.
